The actress was born 19 March 1972 in Mofolo North, Soweto, South Africa.

She will be 51 years old, come March 2023. Sannah grew up with her parents and was a great dancer in school.

She attracted legendary vocalist Brenda Fassie and joined her group as a dancer when she stopped school after falling pregnant.

She had her first child when she was still in her Matric, which made her stop going to school.

After her first child, her parents sent her back to school, and she fell pregnant again, ending her academic journey.

Sannah stayed with her husband for a few years, and after her fifth child, her husband physically abused her, and they went their separate ways.

She went on to have seven children with different men, seven (7) total. Speaking of her abusive marriage of 9 years, Sannah said,

“I had to return home to Sgodiphola in Soweto with nothing to offer my children. He had the money, and all I knew was to give birth and stay home.

Sometimes you must walk away from situations that do not serve you and learn to start over again. Look at me now – telling incredible stories and making the country laugh.”

Education

Despite her parents having so much commitment to her education.

Sannah could not finish her Matric due to several pregnancies that affected her studies. Since then, Sannah did not pursue any further education.

Career

After coming out of school in her late teens, She joined Brenda Fassie’s dancers’ team and starred for a few years. She was later dropped because of her having pregnancies most of the time.

After dancing, she went silent for a long time before returning as an actress.

She first graced television in 2013 when she joined the e.tv anthology series eKasi: Our Stories and played “Mrs Simelane”, often called “Sis K”.

Since then, Sannah has never looked back; her story is an inspiration that is never late.

She later joined several TV series like Muvhango, Rhythm City, Isibaya, The River, The Queen and Gomora.

She impressed a lot on many of the shows she featured, but her heroics as Zodwa on Gomora made her one of the best actresses in South Africa.

To show for her outstanding performance, she won the 2022 Mzansi Viewer’s Choice Award for Favourite Actress.

Her partnership with Bongani (Thulani Mtsweni) on Gomora’s show had been a wonder for most families in Mzansi.
