The funeral details of late rap superstar Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, who was tragically gunned down with his former manager, Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, have been released by the Forbes family.
They expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from friends, family, and fans of the Fela In Versace hitmaker. The family thanked the public for their support and is preparing for AKA’s funeral. AKA and Tibz helped pave the way for many artists in the industry, leaving them devastated by this senseless act.
In a statement, the Forbes family announced that Bongani “Murdah Bongz or Mörda” Mohosana, the husband of DJ Zinhle, will not be part of AKA’s memorial and funeral service out of respect for cultural protocol. Through AKA’s Instagram account, the family revealed details of the services and extended an invitation to all who wish to attend and celebrate the life of the Fela In Versace hitmaker.
The family expressed gratitude for the love and support they have received thus far from friends, family, and supporters.
The family statement reads.
“We, the Forbes family, would like to acknowledge the outpouring of love we have received over the past few days. We didn’t just love Kiernan as a family but by the nation,” they wrote in part.
They continued by saying they would like to celebrate his life with everyone who loved him, “…his memorial will be open to the public and streamed online. Kiernan will rest in a private provincial funeral on Saturday, 18 February 2023.”
In the very same statement, they revealed that In the same information that Murdah Bongz will not be part of the services because they wish to observe cultural protocol. They thanked him and his family for all the support they had given them.
“We’d also like to acknowledge our extended family, the Mohosana, for their unwavering support during this time, As Bongani Mohosana will be absentia at the memorial and funeral due to observing cultural protocol.”
