‘Mr Ibu’ – Nigerian Nollywood actor John Okafor’s leg amputated

Award-winning Nollywood actor John Okafor, better known as Mr Ibu, is trending after his family confirmed the news of his leg amputation.

The actor left his fans worried after it was revealed that he had a health scare. However, little was known about the severity of his medical condition.

However, his family has since confirmed that the star went through a successful leg amputation surgery.

They made it known that it was done after careful consideration. A confirmed statement revealed that the doctors had no choice but to sever the limb “to keep him alive.”

Part of the statement reads, “This development has been hard on us all, but we’ve had to accept it as Daddy’s new reality.”

However, the family has yet to confirm the cause of the illness that led to Mr Ibu’s leg amputation.

With a career that spans years, John Okafor ‘Mr Ibu’, 62, has become one of the most sought-after actors and has wowed many with his craft competence and flair. Over the years, he has played lead roles in several movies, which include Keziah, 9 Wives and Mr Ibu in London.

MEDICAL BILL WOES

Against his surgery, several media outlets have it that part of his medical expenses were footed by former Senate President Bukola Saraki.

However, despite the former Senate President splurging millions on the actor’s medical bill, there is still an owing balance yet to be settled.

Mr Ibus’s family has since appealed to the public for donations to settle the remaining balance, which is still unknown.
