Thembsie Matu’s husband, children

The veteran actress got married to her husband, Peter Sebotsa.

Peter was an Anglican minister but unfortunately lost his life in 2019 when he drowned in the swimming pool.

In 1987, Thembsie Matu made her professional stage debut in Sekunjalo (1986), one of the late playwright’s famous works.

Then followed What A Shame (1989) and Give A Child (1989), as well as subsequent TV roles in Mama’s Love (1994) and Lahliwe (1999) – all these from Kente’s pen and directing.

She is also best known for her recurring role as Zinhle in the SABC3 drama series The Lab (2006-2008) and for appearing in a famous television commercial for the insecticide Doom.

Thembsie also played the role of Nomathamsanqa on the SABC1 drama series Tshisa from 2006-2012.

She made a guest appearance as a Teacher in the first episode of the SABC1 mini-series Gugu no Andile (Gugu and Andile), based on the play Romeo and Juliet, on 3 June 2008.

On 4 August 2008, she made her first appearance on the e.tv soapie Rhythm City in the guest role of Sis Bee, a battleaxe matron who fights the odds trying to care for patients under crazy circumstances.

Thembsie plays Petronella’s role in Mzansi Magic’s soapie drama The Queen.
