Come 18 February 2023, Cathedral shall have a Valentines’ dinner to be hosted by Youth and Vocations, and it will be like never before. On 28 April 2019, the youths of the Archdiocese of Harare gathered in Bindura to celebrate their Simon Peter and Mary feasts and Cathedral Youths displayed what they are capable of. Despite many of us being employed at the time, we all managed to be there for the feasts, with some even traveling by themselves to catch up with others for such a special event. The weekend was a thrilling one that every youth must experience before getting married or whatever they do.
On Friday, we arrived, had Mass, and immediately went to bed for rest. Saturday was the day that everyone was waiting for. We woke up and had breakfast, and the fun started; we went out to the grounds and played several sporting activities such as Athletics, Volleyball, Netball and Soccer, among many other indoor games. At that point, l thought l had enjoyed enough to say the feasts were so good. l didn’t know that real fun was coming on dinner in the evening. The dinner became something that Cathedral showed who we are and what we are made of, we had that dzungu revanhu veSPM, but we set the tone, and if you were not there, don’t miss this time’s Valentines’ dinner hosted by Youth and Vocations dinner.
SPM Cathedral shines in Bindura at a Feats dinner a highlight of what to expect on Valentines dinner
Everyone looked so prepared, and we all helped each other to be dressed appropriately, believe me, it was my first dinner, Ko tiri vekumushaka, lol. We had never planned who would be who’s the date on the night, but things went out naturally. Shockingly, the Cathedral boys were late for dinner and our ladies decided not to get into the hall until the boys had arrived. The boys delayed so much that all the tables were occupied, and we couldn’t find a proper table to take as a Parish. The boys did some magic and outbid for a table that we later assumed to be Cathedral’s table. With that alone, we felt superior that we are the ArchBishop’s children; we are Cathedral SPM.
After taking the table, we had already attracted so much attention and haters, but we kept calm, oozing confidence. After eating, the D.J. started playing soft music, which was the moment we had been waiting for. A moment that comes once in a lifetime especially to a young person. Thanks to Maiguru Dee and, ofcourse, Puffs, we decided to go to the stage ad shine. L didn’t know that l am a good dancer until we paired into couples, and it was lovely. Everyone enjoyed and until this day, l have never enjoyed a moment at Church better than that; l look forward to a better experience come Saturday, 18 February.

Why you can’t miss Valentine’s dinner on 18 February at Cathedral
- If you don’t have a partner, you are likely to enjoy it even more because it is what it is; we wanted ourselves in Bindura without patners
- It is a great chance to network and mix with other youths and elders at the Parish for the good
- It may be a lifetime experience, believe me, a dinner date outside Church is never closer to the Church dinner
- Catholics are the real deal – If there are people who enjoy life better, it’s Catholics; after Saturday, you won’t be disappearing soon after Mass; you will meet new friends
- Very cheap – with the line of artists you will enjoy, the food, the atmosphere? It’s just too much to miss, especially for such a low fee
- All youths are discounted for, by $10
N.B. – Come and enjoy with others and be part of the Cathedral family, we look forward to be with you
