Trip Trans bus falls into a gorge in the Chimanimani, leaving 18 people critically injured. It’s rare news to hear of Trip Trans’ accident as their drivers are well known for being among the best in the country. Trip Trans is one of the largest transport companies in Zimbabwe and had been providing quality serived obver the past years.
However, it seemed that there wasn’t much the driver could have done as the bus fell into a deep gorge in Chimanimani. Roads in Chimanimani are arguably the worst, with dangerous terrains that many drivers fail to negotiate, especially during these rainy seasons. The accident happened in the early hours on 7 February 2023 along the Kurwaisimba -Chimanimani route at Madiro.
The Rimbi Tours and Zebra Kiss accident
The Trip Trans comes after the sad accident that claimed a life between a Rimbi Tours and Zebra Kiss bus. The two buses seemed to be racing on the road, risking the lives of passengers, and they finally collided, leading to the death of one and several injuries.
The Zimbabwean government withdrew these bus companies’ licences before they later investigated and restored the rights for the service of the country with harsh conditions set.
