Ntombifuthi Dlamini is a South African actress best known for her onscreen character on Mzansi’s most-watched drama series Uzalo. In the drama series, she stars as Gladys Mamadlala. Mrs Madlala is a bubbly gossipmonger who happens to be a widow with solid Christian values. She belongs to the KKC church and has a weakness in dating young men known in the modern-day as Ben 10s.
Apart from her acting flair, her dressing sense has seen her topping trends in recent seasons. She is always dressed in three-piece suits, blonde weaves or fancy hats. No doubt, this has fast become her signature. She is friends with MaDongwe.
Ntombifuthi Dlamini – Gladys Mamadlala used to be a mortuary cleaner at a hospital in Durban KwaZulu-Natal before her shot to fame. In recent years she has been dupped as one of the most celebrated actresses, and it’s hard to believe that she used to work as a cleaner. However, in the wake of her newfound fame, her inspiring story from rags to riches has left Mzansi puzzled.
Ntombifuthi Dlamini’s rise to glory
In 2014, she auditioned for Uzalo when the drama series sought extras. She was lucky enough to be turned in as one of the KwaMashu church members. However, in the mix of things, she impressed the showrunners from Stained Glass Production, who offered her the main cast role in Uzalo season 7.
She has the plug and the bling too. On Uzalo, her storyline has left a lot to be desired since she is into Ben 10s. She first dated a young man Kehla. Stranded Kehla, whom she referred to as King K, took advantage of lonely MaMadlala and milked her pockets dry. She also had a thing with Sbu after blindly exchanging flirting text messages and recently found love in the hands of Nomgca.
In real life, actress Ntombifuthi Dlamini refuted allegations that she is into young men. The happily married mother of one remained mum about her marriage life but revealed that she is different from the Mamadlala character.
“In real life, I am a shy person and not an extreme churchgoer like MaMadlala; the onscreen character is different from who I am; I have a husband and am blessed with two children.”
